Open research data products are freely available with access to demographic, economic and longitudinal employer-household dynamics. Restricted-use microdata is only available to those who are a part of secure Census Bureau Research Data Centers. There are numerous tools for accessing census data. American Fact Finder Advanced Search is particularly useful. It allows you to identify topics, geographies, and years of interest (note: not all data is available by geographies). From Fact Finder, users can download decennial Census data, American Community Survey data, County and Zip Code Business Patterns.
